Red Wine Pears

Red Wine Pears is a perfect example that you can truly cook anything in a camp oven! This recipe was entered into the Great Aussie Camp Oven Cook Up.

Step One

Stir the wine, sugar and rind over a medium heat to a simmer then add the peeled pears. Cover with oven lid and simmer till the pears wanna fall to bits.

Step Two

Remove pears once cooked and place a half knob of real unsalted butter and continue to reduce the sauce, down to about 250-300ml worth.

Step Three

Glaze the pears with the sauce and serve with cream, yum!

  • 1/4 – 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 bottle red wine

  • Butter

  • 3 pears
